The second edition of the competition will be held on the 26 April 2026 during the exhibition “Arena of Beauty” at Inter Expo Centre, Sofia.
Asen Nalbantov
Master hairdresser, founder of Nalby Style, he is the “king” or the “God of scissors”, as his friends call him. Alongside with being virtuoso in his work, Asen is a mentor to aspiring barbers. He participates in contests and wins first places in competitions in Bulgaria and abroad.
Vladimir Atanasov
Master hairdresser, founder of VS style hair salons. He has won multiple awards at Bulgarian and international competitions thanks to his unique style and creativity. For more than 10 years Vladimir is a trainer for Christian of Roma group brands, a stylist for ALFA PARF, SEXY HAIR brands and head stylist for some of the most prestigious fashion events and beauty contests.

Bulgarian Hair Cup has four competition categories. There is one winner in each category. The winners in categories Mannequin, Glam Style and Artistic Vision participate in the final. The jury selected one participant for the award “Hair stylist of the year” through a special show.
Participation fees:
Participation in 1 category – 100 EUR
Participation in 2 categories – 150 EUR
Participation in 3 categories – 200 EUR
The participation fees are payable by bank transfer within 10 days after registration in the competition. Payment details are sent by email to each participant.
CATEGORY JUNIOR ART STYLE
Working time: 60 minutes
This category is for less experienced hairdressers, regardless of age, who want to show modern haircuts and styling. Models may be bleached, dyed or chemically permed in advance.
Haircutting and styling are performed on stage in front of the audience and jury. All cutting and styling tools are permitted, as well as extensions and constructions that are placed directly on the model during the competition.
Participants in this category do not participate in the other categories and do not compete for the Grand Finale prize.
CATEGORY MANNEQUIN
Working time: 45 minutes
In this category the competitors make their competition hairstyle on a working doll/mannequin. All tools and products are permitted, as well as extensions, constructions and additional decorative elements, which supplement the look according to the creative vision of the stylist.
CATEGORY GLAM STYLE
Working time: 45 minutes
Competitors create fashion hairstyle for a special occasion – ball, reception, fashion event or wedding. The presented hairstyles can be inspired by the seasonal trends and must present a glam look which gives the model self-esteem and attracts the attention of everyone in the hall.
CATEGORY ARTISTIC VISION
Working time: 50 minutes
Artistic Vision is the category in which the competitors have to create and avant-garde fantasy look.
Avant-garde hairstyles are something that distinguishes each artist and creative team. The aim for the participants is to show their unique style, imagination and unique craft in combination with the seasonal trends. The hairstyles can be created for various show programs, performances, commercials and music videos, commercial and film productions – everything that is designed for the stage. The appropriate outfit and makeup of the models contribute to the good presentation of the overall look.
General terms and conditions:
The competitors must be 18 years old or older and are required to provide all necessary products, consumables, equipment and accessories for their work. The competitors can use all brands for products and equipment. The use of products and equipment with unclear origin and/or have a potential to harm the model’s and the competitor’s health and safety are prohibited.
The competitors work on live models. The models are provided by the participants and can be dressed in advance according to the concept set in the category. The jury will evaluate the hairstyle only, but the good combination with the outfit is always a plus for the participants.
Each competitor receives: participation certificate.
The winners receive: cup, participation certificate, prizes from the event sponsors

Maximum participants in category – 15 competitors
Each category will be held with a minimum of 5 registered participants.
